About Us

The name Virtuous Circle Counselling reflects the approach behind our work. When people get stuck, it often feels like a loop: discouragement leads to avoidance, avoidance leads to more stress, and that stress can feed anxiety, shame, or self-doubt. A virtuous circle begins differently—one small, realistic action paired with a non-judgemental, self-compassionate lens. Over time, that pattern can grow into stronger self-trust and steadier confidence. In counselling, we help clients identify the patterns that keep them feeling trapped and then build a more workable cycle that supports progress in daily life. That might mean learning emotion regulation skills, strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, processing trauma, or developing practical strategies that fit the client’s personality and situation.

Our clinics support a wide range of needs, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma therapy, EMDR therapy, anger management, ADHD counselling, adolescent counselling, family counselling, divorce counselling, self-esteem support, child psychology, and sports psychology. We also provide services for workplaces through corporate wellness and counselling, offering tailored support such as workshops, stress and burnout prevention, conflict resolution and mediation, crisis debriefing, and individualized counselling for employees. Across all services, the goal is the same: to create a steady, collaborative process where clients feel heard and supported as they work toward goals they helped shape. Whether someone is seeking short-term support for a specific challenge or longer-term work for bigger change, we aim to make counselling feel approachable, structured, and grounded in respect.

Why Choose Us

A welcoming, inclusive environment that prioritizes safety

Many people hesitate before reaching out for counselling because they worry about being judged or misunderstood. At Virtuous Circle Counselling, we work to create a respectful environment where clients feel emotionally safe and supported. This includes being thoughtful about different relationship structures, cultural backgrounds, and personal identities. Counselling is a space to talk honestly about what’s happening, including difficult emotions, conflict, regret, fear, and uncertainty—without being reduced to a label. That sense of safety helps clients take meaningful risks in session: telling the truth, trying new tools, and building healthier patterns.

Support for individuals, couples, families, and workplaces

Some clinics focus on one narrow area; we provide a broad range of counselling and psychology services so clients can find the support that fits their situation. Individuals may work on anxiety, depression, self-esteem, trauma recovery, ADHD-related concerns, stress management, anger regulation, or life transitions. Couples may focus on communication, trust, intimacy, conflict patterns, and rebuilding connection. Families may work through parenting challenges, separation or divorce-related stress, boundary-setting, and healthier home dynamics. We also support organizations with corporate wellness and counselling services that strengthen resilience, improve workplace culture, and provide meaningful support during difficult periods.

Assessments that help clarify needs and next steps

When someone is struggling, uncertainty can add to the stress—especially for children and teens in school settings or adults navigating work performance, focus, or emotional regulation. Our psychological assessments support children, youth, and adults and may include psychoeducational, ADHD, and gifted assessments, as well as other evaluation options. The goal is clarity: understanding strengths, needs, and possible supports. For many families, a clear assessment can reduce confusion, guide planning, and open the door to more targeted support at home, school, or work.

Accessible scheduling and clear next steps

We aim to make starting counselling straightforward. We are accepting new clients, and we offer a free 30-minute phone consultation to explore fit and goals before committing to ongoing sessions. With availability Monday to Sunday and options for in-person, online, phone, and walk-and-talk therapy, clients can choose what works for them. For Calgary appointments and general questions, clients can reach us at 403-797-0660. Our clinic locations (including Crowfoot, Quarry Park, and WestMount in Calgary) serve different parts of the city. This structure helps clients move from “Where do I go from here?” to a clear first step that feels manageable.

Whether someone is looking for counselling in Calgary, seeking online therapy from another city, exploring an assessment for a child or teen, or hoping to strengthen a relationship, the goal is the same: move from feeling stuck to building a healthier, more workable cycle of change. When clients are ready, the first step can be as simple as booking an appointment or scheduling a free 30-minute phone consultation—an opportunity to ask questions, discuss goals, and find the right fit for the next chapter.
